ASL Video Remote Interpretation

ASL VRI System Requirements

For CyraCom’s ASL Video Remote Interpretation service to work effectively, the following requirements must be met:

Video conferencing unit

All Polycom® video conferencing equipment is compatible with CyraCom’s video interpreting solution. CyraCom currently does not support units from other manufacturers. CyraCom also offers a custom-built video conferencing unit specifically designed for ASL Video Remote interpretation.

Bandwidth

For every call, an internet connection with a minimum bandwidth of 512 kbps is required. On shared networks, Quality of Service or other network prioritization is necessary to ensure acceptable video quality.

Firewall

CyraCom’s solution is based on H.323 communication. To allow video conferencing traffic to pass in and out of your local network, you must allow the H.323 protocol suite for outbound communications.

Mobility

Identify areas where a video conferencing unit will be used and ensure that network ports are configured for internet access.

Testing

You can test your system to see if can connect to CyraCom’s network, either through Polycom® video conferencing equipment or by downloading the trial version of Polycom’s® PVX software to your PC and connecting from there. You can obtain the number to dial from your equipment or PVX software by contacting us.
